GETTING STARTED

Install in
a few steps.

Everything you need to prepare Minecraft Java Edition for GGEZ Client once a compatible build is available.

01

Prepare Minecraft Java Edition

Install and launch the Minecraft Java Edition version supported by your intended release at least once. The current GGEZ development target is 1.21.11.

02

Install Fabric Loader

Get the installer from the official Fabric website. Select your Minecraft version and create a Fabric profile. Use the matching loader and dependencies required by the eventual GGEZ release.

03

Download the official GGEZ JAR

When a public release is published, visit the GGEZ downloads page and download the build compatible with your version. There is no official release file on the website yet.

04

Place the JAR in your mods folder

On Windows, press Win + R, type %appdata%\.minecraft, and open the mods folder. Create it if necessary, then place the GGEZ JAR inside. Custom launchers may use a different instance folder.

05

Launch with Fabric

Choose your compatible Fabric profile in the Minecraft launcher and start the game. If it does not open, check that your Minecraft, Java, Fabric Loader, Fabric API (if required), and GGEZ versions are compatible.

Some Minecraft servers have their own rules on client modifications. Check the rules of any server where you intend to play.
